Model Driven Architecture Targets Middleware Interoperability Challenges

چکیده

Since its inception, the Object Management Group (OMG) has provided vendorand languageindependent interoperability standards to the enterprise. The CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) standard has recently been modified for -and embraced by -environments that require specialized real-time, fault-tolerant, and embedded systems. The OMG's complementary core modeling specifications include the Unified Modeling Language (UML), the Common Warehouse Meta-model (CWM), the Meta-Object Facility (MOF), and XML Metadata Interchange (XMI).

Middleware Unaware Software Development and Interoperability using MDA

The main interest of this position paper is how to separate the development of distributed applications from specific middleware technologies. Unfortunately, the large number of middleware technologies conspires against this purpose – the development and maintenance of distributed systems have become coupled to the constant evolution and changes of middleware technologies. Authors back the idea...

Web Services and Seamless Interoperability

Web Services technologies are often proposed as a means to integrate applications that are developed in different middleware platforms and implementation environments. Ideally, application developers and integrators should be shielded from the existence of different middleware platforms and programming language abstractions. This characterizes seamless interoperability, in which a set of consis...

Services Management Using Context Information, Ontologies and the Policy-Based Management Paradigm: Towards Integrated Management in Autonomic Communications

The management of pervasive services on next generation networks involves self-management capabilities for improving performance and achieving interoperability necessary to support current and next generation services. This paper introduces a case study on an ontology-based, policydriven architecture for managing pervasive services using context information. The architecture employs ontologies ...

Ontology-Based Model Transformation

Today, model-driven development is getting more sophisticated and can be used for modeling enterprises and developing application systems. Since current interoperability solutions operate essentially at a syntactical level, technologies have to be developed enabling interoperability based on middleware, and development platforms have to be enriched with machine-understandable semantics. Our app...

Towards Model - Driven Testing 1

The OMG’s Model-Driven Architecture is a strategy towards interoperability across heterogeneous middleware platforms through the reuse of platform independent designs based on the distinction of, and transformation between, platformindependent and platform-specific models. A corresponding strategy for model-driven testing requires a similar structure to facilitate, besides the generation of tes...
